Good Morning Vietnam!
Here are some pics from our first couple of days in Hanoi, this city is alive!
Screaming horns from motorbikes and cars, chickens clucking in the streets, and the constant solicitation that accompany this gigantic market of a city make the pulse of Hanoi entirely palpable.
Delicious meals for 2 - including 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and two Hanoi Beers (each the size of 2 beers) all for the hefty price of $3USD.
There are more pics to come and we will make sure to add commentary as this city is unlike anything we have ever seen. Hanoi is a wonderful blend of old and new and while the city moves a mile a minute, its charm is the simplicity of the lifestyle; the emphasis on stopping to enjoy all three meals with friends and family makes it very special. As you will see in the next pictures we post, sidewalks become cafes during the 3 meals as a few people cook the feasts and the majority of the people huddle around small tables to eat, converse, and of course, smoke many many cigarettes.
